Star Citizen: A Galaxy of Greed? (Or Awesome Opportunity?)
Source: star-hangar.com
"A journey of a thousand leagues begins with a single step." – Lao Tzu. This old saying, folks, sums up Star Citizen pretty well. A space game, yeah? But a LOT of space game!
The Core Concept
Star Citizen's hook? Building a persistent universe. Players aren't just flying, they're building their future, piece by piece, almost like building a small town!
- Massive, open-world space to explore
- Building a ship (yes, your own spaceship)
- Buying land on planets
- Playing as different careers like bounty hunters, pilots etc
The Shipyards & Cost! (What’s your space dream?)
Many say the star system here is really a cool experience (not talking about the universe obviously, lol). But then, the ship buying, and then also buying other resources costs!
The prices, folks, they vary! (some are really affordable) But for some things? Let’s just say they are like buying your own little private rocket, (which some folks do) maybe even an expensive house or hotel!.
Imagine getting your ship and taking off; flying up and feeling the solar breeze on your skin(or not, cause there's no real way for the devs to have made it happen without making it complicated lol)… Maybe like a supercar! You pick what looks nice to you, of course. The game's economy? Complex, man, super complex. Like a real market!
Ship Price Ranges (Not including upgrades and other addons!)

Is It Worth It? – Community and Player Views (what do other folks say?)

A huge deal, that’s the one thing. The online players all talk about how crazy the universe is. But, one guy said it's like buying virtual assets that could be valued way differently than something you get from the store! Another mentioned how nice the atmosphere and sense of space was and all!
-
Early adopter hype: Some are still excited about what Star Citizen offers
-
Concerns: Not everyone agrees on how worth the investment and patience. It seems everyone gets into discussions on the price points and ship prices etc!
"Is it worth spending that amount of money? The answers come from individual preferences, of course", comments another user! This quote makes the debate very easy to grasp: there will be folks that think it's the ultimate deal of the lifetime (some even say it) and there will also be some folks who'd not put so much time (let alone money).
The Long Road Ahead! (or the Journey itself is amazing?)
This project has been running for, wow, it seems like it's a super-long time. People were asking for updates, features and upgrades every minute (yes even one-on-one chats!). I guess devs get so swamped too with so many people wanting updates and wanting new things that happen to happen and wanting this thing to change in this way. This huge scale is tough!
Some said that despite what they expect, people who come around for other gaming types find they become quickly sucked into the vast experience.
Star Citizen is a huge project. There will always be more and more of everything, maybe because there are many many players coming.
So here's something to ask yourself? Have you ever tried spending 1k to 2k dollars on a game and how will the game satisfy you?

My Own Experience (a few lines!)
For me personally? (like a brief one liner) The feeling is something special. Star Citizen does capture and give that experience and satisfaction. It gives that sense and gives a new perspective to space adventures that make the universe in game seem almost so realistic.
The graphics look incredibly detailed! For a personal touch; flying around this realistic looking world feels incredible.
Pros (what works, great points)
- Huge space; the scale itself works (so big it really makes you go hmm…how do I take advantage and enjoy myself with such large world!).
- Persistent world: not just one playthrough; it’s more than that. You build your reputation; feel as though your life can depend on actions in the game and all, for many folks (maybe that's something that some folks appreciate, the sense of being in a huge scale or small town feel with unique roles/relationships).
- Huge world makes an impact; the way you are playing the game will make a personal feel. It’s fun to play around with how and the fact you feel this impact means so much.
Cons (Some points you think could work better):
- The price can deter a bunch of players. Some just can't afford all these features!
- (More realistic look to the graphics): I know other folks felt this too, I found that sometimes, graphics and world look kinda too detailed, they look overcomplicated sometimes.
Other player reviews: ( what others said about this experience!)
A frequent review said that it's so huge you sometimes feel lonely(so many others too!, and yeah). A lot of the critics talk about how complex this project has become with so many updates!
Review by Gamer A: "The game is awesome for building and managing. It has to be experienced to feel its magnitude!" (Wow). (the feeling it gives to those that can do and complete these activities in such a giant setting feels overwhelming in a good way!)
Review by Gamer B: "Not quite ready yet! Feels incomplete; so much could be missing" (sometimes, there are features in games that may miss out some functionalities because it needs a complete design) (some players may miss the feeling of satisfaction after a lengthy gameplay session because the game can miss or lack important/detail elements)
Overall? This game is more than a game. I believe many users found and expressed a large number of unique values and different points in the games; the feel from some users are so overwhelmingly unique!

This game definitely demands patience! A game like Star Citizen will keep on growing, but as more players come along and create content, and enjoy the large variety; this can be something you personally see as satisfying or unique.
Ultimately, if this game's goal to stay relevant to satisfy people's enjoyment in the game is achieved and how satisfied this makes them, it'll come down to player preferences on whether you prefer the vast space in the game and personal satisfaction of your gameplay to how long and/or what other players feel to value.
